In fact, without a registered agent, your articles of incorporation will be rejected.<\/p><p>A nonprofit registered agent is also known as an &#8220;agent for service of process.&#8221; This individual or company provides a physical office in the state where you form or register your nonprofit (either your home state or if you register in additional states.) The registered agent\u2019s legal responsibility is to receive service of process and government notices during regular business hours and forward them to you. These documents are time-sensitive, which means it is important to choose a reliable registered agent for your nonprofit.<\/p><p>If you don&#8217;t want to act as your own Registered Agent, Nonprofit Ninjas can do it for you! Let us know if you&#8217;re interested in this service, and we&#8217;ll be happy to get you set up.
