Nonprofit or Not a Nonprofit: That is the Question
You’ve worked on your own, helping others in your community. Until now, you’ve done it all: contacted local schools or community centers, worked with people in need, and paid for it all out of your own pocket. It’s gotten to be a lot of work and expensive — especially in today’s world!
You’re special though: you realize people in your community desperately need the services you provide…but you just can’t keep doing all of the work on your own, much less continue to support your efforts financially.
It’s worth considering nonprofit organizations help make our communities thrive, and without them, potential clients who’ve fallen on hard times might struggle to make ends meet.
If this sounds like you, then you should consider forming a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization, otherwise you might have to discontinue your efforts, and that would be a loss to your community!
Your community and your neighbors? They’re worth all the effort you’ve given. Rather than giving up, it’s probably time to look in to forming a nonprofit, tax-exempt start-up organization. Such an organization will enable you to find others in your community who are like-minded, and who also want to help, but maybe they just didn’t know how to get started. You alone have made a difference for a few…but a group of like-minded individuals all working together can further advance all your efforts!
It will also enable you to search for and obtain grant funding or corporate funding, and take the burden off of your personal finances.
